Angela Davis to headline tour ending in New York
Angela Davis plans a nationwide tour beginning Friday to thank supporters. The six week vacation after includes possible trips to the Soviet Union or Bulgaria. She was freed Sunday by an all white jury of murder kidnap conspiracy charges tied to a 1970 Marin County courthouse escape attempt that left four dead. The tour will start in Los Angeles, then Chicago and Detroit before Memphis and Birmingham, ending in New York for an Evening with Angela at Madison Square Garden on June 29. Death threats have led to security during the tour.
