Eight Wounded in Mine War Clash at Peerless Mine

Death of Abbot Bernard Menges at Cullman
Rt Reverend Bernard Menges abbot of St Bernard's Monastery and president of St Bernard's College died in Cullman on Monday at age 65 or 66 from a heart attack after years of ill health. He helped found St Bernard's in 1892 and served 29 years, giving the college national regard. Funeral services set for 3 p.m. Friday at the college chapel with interment in the monastery cemetery.
