Athens Ala June 7 Special Ed Welden deputy sheriff of Limestone County sues Moore and two associates for damages from a March arrest attempt. Welden was attacked during a confrontation at Moore’s home resulting in head injuries and a bottle of whiskey used as the assault weapon. The three defendants fled but surrendered later and were bound over to the grand jury on assault with intent to murder charges. The case awaits trial in regular order though timing is uncertain.
