The Internal Revenue Service will begin a compliance survey of Decatur firms to check awareness and adherence to federal tax filing requirements. The program aims to gauge general compliance and the completeness of the Master File, not to audit individual returns.
Army engineers received a bid of 285,925 for emergency service building construction at the Marshall Space Flight Center Mississippi test facility in Hancock County. C and B Construction Co of Memphis filed the apparent bid Wednesday. The facility is under contract at an estimated cost of unknown dollars.
Tracy California, 23 year old commercial pilot Phil Kneeland, who flies weekend parachuters, made his first jump from 3000 feet to learn the experience and landed on an airport building injuring his left leg. The incident involved more than $500 million for ground testing of rocket stages and engines for the manned lunar program.
