In the Probate Court of Morgan County Alabama administrator George F. Carter seeks final settlement of Pete H. Carstensen's estate with examination set for June 27, 1927. Also notices seek legislative amendments for Morgan County Court powers, jury rules, and court session timing.
Richard H. Wade testified that after his wife died in 1912 the House of David offered a financial settlement through Esther Hansel on behalf of Benjamin Purnell. Hansel collapsed on the stand after six days, later had an appendicitis operation, as the dissolution suit against the cult continued.
The Morgan County Board of Education has appropriated 500 dollars to defray part of the summer costs for the county's adult illiteracy schools. Mixes Clutie Bloodworth, supervisor of exceptional education for the state department, will confer with E. L. Hays, county superintendent, in Hartsville. The adult schools will open in the coming weeks with locations to be announced.
A daily Vacation Bible School is planned at Westminster Church beginning June 18 at 8 45 a m. A strong faculty will teach Bible studies memory work music handcraft and woodwork for boys under Rev E N Hart and girls under Mrs Hart and Mrs Hartung. Children aged 4 to 15 are invited.
