After eight weeks of the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem Israel debates punishment. Officials say he will be convicted yet Israelis disagree on hanging or life imprisonment with many opposing capital punishment for moral and national honor reasons.
Delegates to Alabama Boys State were not allowed to use Maxwell Air Force Base facilities because the group was segregated. Lawson M. Lynn of the Alabama American Legion said arrangements had been made to feed the youths at the air base, but permission was revoked upon their arrival in Montgomery from Tuscaloosa. They were fed at a National Guard armory in Montgomery.

Norfolk AP report: boiler tender Clarence Hudson aged 26 shot his wife Margaret 24 and then killed himself in their apartment. Their 12 month old daughter was found crying in a smoke filled room as fire in the oven drew authorities. Mrs Hudson, a part time nurse from Cape Charles, and Hudson from Oxford Alabama, had lived in the apartment about two years.
