U.S. Effort to Regain Custody of Freddie
U.S. authorities visit Los Angeles to support Cecil Llewellyn Bartholomew and his wife in a custody fight over Freddie the child film star. The case centers on Freddie’s guardianship with his aunt Myllicent Bartholomew on the coast. A peaceful settlement was forecast in the battle. Also noted is the escape of Talmadge E. Baker from an Alabama prison in 1925 after a long Kansas City life as a steel mill worker and church usher following a prior killing during a Gadsden holdup.
