Montgomer y June 2 P Cotton conditions in dry Alabama areas are generally satisfactory after last week’s showers, meteorologist E D Emigh reports in the weekly weather and crop bulletin. He notes many crops including sweet potatoes corn peanuts soybeans cowpeas sorghum sugar cane and vegetables show good root systems and cattle are in fairly satisfactory condition under improved grazing.
Alabama 4-H and FFA members across districts showed strong beef production gains. Instructors highlighted profits and the learning value from fat stock projects, noting 1014 calves sold for 286,939.90 dollars at an average 34.48 cents per pound.
