New Phase in Long Court Fight Over Ingalls Co
In Birmingham on June 1 the Ingalls feud moved into a new phase as Judge E M Creel ordered seven trust funds owning large blocks of stock in Ingalls Iron Works Co and its subsidiaries to air their differences. The trust funds were set up over ten years ago by Robert I Ingalls Sr for his two daughters. Ingalls Jr held 4501 shares of 15000 in Ingalls Ironworks and previously led the firms until 1948 when a divorce dispute led to his ouster. He sued for damages and control of the trust funds citing the family rift.
