Security spending on Nixon homes may hit ten million
The General Services Administration will report far higher federal outlays than the $1.9 million disclosed so far for security at President Nixon’s private residences in Key Biscayne Florida and San Clemente California. Officials expect total security spending to reach $10 million or more as work at Grand Cay in the Bahamas and at a Bethesda Maryland Rebozo property is included. The GA S insists expenditures are authorized by the Secret Service and presidential representatives, even as some officials question whether improvements go beyond security needs.
