Three Arrested After Car Wreck Near Decatur
Saturday morning on the Joe Wheeler highway six miles west of Decatur a 1951 Mercury wrecked after following a truck too closely. Three Tri City men and a woman from Florence were arrested on liquor transportation charges after five gallon cans of wildcat whiskey were found hidden by the road. Lola Stewart sustained a minor shoulder injury. Newsome, manager of a negro semi pro baseball team in Sheffield, is noted.

John William Fisk aged 24 from Athens is held in Columbus Ohio on charges of assault with intent to murder and driving a stolen auto across a state line. He will be tried on the auto theft charge in Ohio then sent to Athens to face the assault charge. Fisk was sought for months in connection with the assault on Limestone county Sheriff John Sandlin last June and was arrested June 30 in Columbus.

Mystery Of Death On Highway Solved
Mrs Eva Rose Smith 32 of Fackler Alabama was found dead on U S highway 11 eight miles southwest of Chattanooga Tennessee. Sheriff Rex Richey said James C Case 53 of Trenton Georgia and his brother Jules A Case reported they were driving a car that struck something shortly before the body was found. Case faced charges but indications pointed to no criminal blame in the accident.
