A 29 year old Limestone County man Dewey Pepper faced assault with intent to kill a police officer after a 1 am shootout with about 30 Morgan and Limestone county deputies near Copeland. Pepper hovered his father Franklin Pepper inside the home and fired from a window injuring no officers while beating the elder Pepper. deputies were uninjured.
