Plainview School meeting to decide its future
A Morgan County education board will hold a 7 p.m. meeting at Plainview School to decide whether to keep the school open or redirect Plainview area children to Hartselle schools. All Plainview residents are urged to attend per trustees R. H. Fuller Booth Pettit and Robert E. Atkins.

Freighter Hydralock Lost With 31 Aboard
A two day search failed to locate the British freighter Hydralock and its 31 crew after a distress call at 2 am claimed it grounded in heavy seas near Foochow. Wheelock Marden Ltd officials notified next of kin for four British officers and 27 Chinese crew. The 980 ton vessel was carrying general cargo to the port of Foochow, now blocked by the Chinese.

Jupiter IRBM work to continue, Medaris asserts

Three men died when a single engine Beech Bonanza crashed one mile south of Cole Springs near Falkville after leaving Atlanta at 9 48 p m local time en route to Memphis. The pilot Howard Bebin, 32, and passengers Ronald Martin and James R 29, were believed from Algonquin. Coroner Pinky Grewn identified the deceased.
