The move follows purchase of 18 acres of river frontage and will expand from rough lumber to finished flooring and celling products. Citizens Give In Assessments

Capt. F. J. Troup, county tax assessor, reports about 6,000 people have submitted assessments for their land. About 1,000 remain before May 1, with a May 3 deadline after which a ten percent levy may be added by the assessor. Rural citizens are more prompt in assessing than residents of Decatur, two thirds of delinquents coming from there.

Salvation Army aims to buy Birmingham division home
