Bodies of Arctic Flyers Brought Aboard Nanuk
The bodies of Carl Ben Elefson and Earl Borland, arctic fliers, were held on the Nanuk at North Cape Siberia awaiting air transport to Alaska and the United States. Commander Slipenov braved 650 below zero to accompany the body flight from a crash site 90 miles southeast of here. The two men died last November during an attempt from Teller Alaska to the Nanuk, which is ice bound. Wreckage was found January 25 and Soviet workmen were sent to recover the bodies. Borland was found February 13 and Elefson five days later.
