Five Burned Ten Death In Home Fire
Pittsburgh report says a father and four children died when a two story house burned. Ten people were rescued. Victims include Constance Kozakiewicz 45 Steven 19 Phillip 15 Mildred 11 and Stanley 7. Louis 21 was seriously burned. The mother was away visiting. Firemen arrived an hour after discovery due to icy streets. The Kozakiewicz apartment was on the second floor. The first floor housed another family and boarders.

The Bank of Atalla was robbed by unmasked bandits yesterday. The cashier, Mrs. Rip Reagan, nee Nell Joe Gray, has visited here as a guest of Mrs. R. T. Sheppard, adding local interest to the incident. The thieves bound those inside, took $17,000, and fled in an automobile.

The wife of an Atlanta judge was swept overboard from a harbor boat near Hamilton Bermuda during a storm. She clung to a life ring for thirty minutes as eight foot waves battered the vessel and sharks commingled with danger before a lifeboat rescued her. Many Schools to Close March 2 in Countywide Action
More than thirty of the county's 85 schools will shut down March 2 because districts have not approved the three mill tax needed for state aid for an extended term. The closures affect both white and colored rural schools, with twenty or more of those affected being white.
