Work To Start Soon On Big Apartment Project Here
A quarter million dollar Sheridan apartment project is set to begin in the near future after a building permit was issued to Homer B. Hutchinson. The plan includes three block and brick front stores and 25 duplex buildings totaling 500 housing units. Located near Seventh Street East, Somerville Road, and Fourteenth Avenue, the site was purchased last August for $15,000. The FHA approved project will include paving, drainage work, and a new shopping center with plans for a supermarket, hardware store, and sandwich shop.

Bandit Shoots To Prove Visit Is Not a Prank
Two armed bandits held four Morgan county men at bay with a shotgun and pistol at the W. L. Morris store about 11 miles west of U S 31 on the West Falkville pike. Bandits Rob Store Swing Car Theft During Hold Up
Four men were held at gunpoint during a robbery at a store. A pistol wielding bandit collected about $350 from the cash register while a second masked robber pried a register and attempted to break it. The group fled in Coy Crow’s light grey Ford after the car keys were offered. No other robberies were reported in nearby counties over two days.
