Negro Prisoner Recovers After Appendix Operation
Les Robinson, a black inmate at the county jail, is rapidly recovering after an appendectomy last week. Stitches were removed Friday and sheriffs said the recovery is remarkable given the gangrenous appendix. Robinson had been jailed for burglary at the Russell Speake store on Second Avenue pending a hearing.

Slaying in Strange Cult Sparks Hearing for Mills Son
INEZ Kentucky February 11 AP six children horror stricken huddled in a one room mountain cabin during a ritual dance preceding the slaying of Mrs Lucinda Mills in a strange religious cult. County Attorney Preece said the hearing began for John Mills son of the woman. Mills and seven other cult members are held in connection with the slaying for a religious sacrifice. Preece said the investigation disclosed the children were not intended for sacrifices.

Father and daughter injured in crash on Bee Line highway
C A Whitlock, 57, and daughter Viola, 19, of Pensacola were hurt when their car overturned on ice three miles south of Athens on the Bee Line highway while enroute to Illinois. A traveling salesman, H H McGuire of Athens, found the wreck and the pair were taken to a local hospital with non fatal injuries. Mr Whitlock’s father is critically ill in Pensacola.
