Robbery at Nicholson Home Near Wheeler Dam

Trio Tied Robbed In Rural Lawrence

Harold Nicholson Curtis Johnson and Joe Wesley Patterson were tied and robbed at Nicholson’s home near a store six miles north of town. Two masked men escaped with jewelry, gold, guns and cash after forcing the trio into separate rooms during a home invasion. Police describe the suspects as two Black men in their 30s.

Gas crisis eases slightly in Decatur

PAUL FOREMAN reports that Decatur's three recreation centers will reopen Friday after city officials learned the natural gas allocation was slightly increased. Mahlon Trimble, City Gas Department manager, said the session rose Tuesday afternoon and might continue rising for residential and light commercial customers and some industries, though the allotment could drop again at any time.
