In Clintonville Wisconsin three youths tried to extort Dr E J Finney of 10000 dollars. A 15 year old Gordon Pope was killed as a posse of 15 residents hid in shrubbery and exchanged rifle fire with the assailants. The suspects Douglas Parfitt 17 Howard LausterMark 18 were arrested.
Bruce Potter Kay county attorney says Earl Quin alias Earl Howard a former Missouri convict is the slayer of the Griffith sisters found shot south of Tonkawa. Quin in Tonkawa night before crime, wife held in Tonkawa talked, wife bought gun and cartridge. Potter names Capehart in connection with the case. Quin served two Missouri prison terms.
Four masked bandits robed in white hoods robbed the Third District Whitney Trust in New Orleans. They killed Pierre Rizan, 55, a techman, and wounded Albert Brownson, 35, a teller, and an employee named Dietrich. The robbers fired from pistols and shotguns and escaped by car, a ricocheting bullet hitting one bandit.
Paris dispatch reports Marshal Joffre remaining in a deteriorating condition after a heart attack. Despite earlier vitality, he entered a semi conscious state as doctors noted very weak blood pressure and little hope for recovery. condition described as stationary.
Danville county health officer Dr. H C McRee reports 41 children in the Danville area received anti diphtheria shots after several deaths. Immunization efforts extended to Somerville and Parkville as authorities plan another drive next spring and summer to reach more families.

Lloyd Hale a 16 year old was burned to death and Catherine Weems likely to die after an automobile collision with a taxicab early today. Three others were seriously injured as the car veered off the sidewalk into a tree and caught fire. Hale's father later obtained warrants charging murder against Overby Harold Wyman and Emory Godsey, occupants of the taxicab.

Decatur visitors were injured when a two car trip to Muscle Shoals and Corinth Miss ended with one vehicle overturning on a curve near Corinth. Passengers include Mrs Charles Moore and Mrs Ernest Garrett with broken ribs and facial injuries. Driver Mark Hirschman had severe cuts. The other driver W E Garrett also had a broken rib and the families sought medical care at Baughs infirmary.
Lawence county officers assisted by Sheriff Phillips and Sheriff Davis seized five large liquor stills in Fox Creek and Lindsey's settlement over two days. Stills included capacities of 800 gallons each and others 120 and 60 gallons. about 4250 gallons of beer and mash were removed. One still found in operation fled before capture.

Performances included Santa Claus sketches and carols like Jingle Bells and O Little Town of Bethlehem.
