Budget Figures Readied By Outgoing Chief
An administration source says President Truman will ask Congress to approve about 73 percent of a new billion-dollar allocation for next year. He projects total expenditures near 80 billion with the current year under 5 billion below estimates due to defense lags. A 5 to 6 billion dollar budget deficit is forecast for end of June next year with cash deficits differing from the budget figure because social security funds are recorded in the budget but cash remains in the Treasury.
