Lawrence County Alabama authorities report Thomas V. James 34 died after a head on collision on Five Points Road. Quinton Kelsoe 33 is in fair condition with head and chest injuries after Kelsoe lost control following a blowout. James had resigned as Morgan ASC office manager and was to leave the post today. Five Die in State Highway Crash Near Stapleton
Five persons were killed and five injured when a truck and an automobile collided head on near Stapleton Alabama. Arthur Paul Evans 18 of Atmore Alabama the truck driver was booked on five counts of manslaughter. Victims included Sherman E. Golden 32 of Atlanta and Linda Warren 4 of Atlanta along with Matilda Lambert 34 of Uriah all Negroes. The injured were passengers in the Golden car. Evans rode alone and the fatalities occurred around 6 20 p m yesterday. The wounded were taken to a Bay Minette hospital.
