Christmas Church Observances In Decatur This Year

Decatur churches plan varied Christmas events with no joint services. Central Methodist hosts a live nativity on 6th Ave today 5 to 7 PM, Holy Communion Friday at 1130 PM, and a 10 AM Christmas Day service for 13 new members. A student breakfast at Holiday Inn is sponsored by the Women’s Society. First Presbyterian holds a candle-lighting service Friday 5 PM, with Covenant Presbyterian participating.

JC West Morgan High Get Funds

The Alabama Public School and College Authority approved 370000 for West Morgan High School and Tennessee Valley Junior College in Limestone County. Gov. George C. Banks Report 5S Bogus Bills in Decatur

Five counterfeit ten dollar bills were found in Decatur and turned to the Secret Service in Birmingham. A bank spokesman said one bill appeared at First National Bank and four at State National Bank. Investigators pursue the source as merchants are urged to beware. The fake bills shared identical serial numbers and were lighter than authentic tens.
