Government scrap price revision aims to ease steel shortages
In Pittsburgh a new federal scrap pricing schedule unifies grades with a $20 ceiling for seven open hearth grades, replacing a $15.25 to $20 range. The plan, praised by brokers, allows selling at the most favorable basing point, potentially boosting supply and leveling bids across mills.
