Revision Of The Draft Law To Bring In Younger Men For Training Urged
Washington dispatch reports demands for a long-range plan to fund and organize the defense program. Senator Adams argues for compulsory service reform to train youths aged 16 to 20 or 28 instead of 21 to 35. Critics warn of job loss for young men and complicated transitions. A National Economy League proposal calls for a defense planning commission to reduce waste and delay. Republican leaders echo calls for a financing plan with gradual funding over years.
