Alford, 38, of Five Points, N. C., showed an excellent record. Brakes were set when retrieved. Commonwealth's Attorney John T. Goodman promised a full investigation. Slaying Near Union Hill Leaves Farmer Dead
W E Bramlett, 45, a farmer from Union Hill, died instantly Sunday afternoon after his throat was cut during a public altercation near his home. Johnny Hardage and Campbell, both of Wahermase, were held without charge as investigators questioned witnesses who said multiple people took part in the fight and that Bramlett was slashed from ear to ear. Bramlett is survived by his widow, two daughters and six sons.
