City Plans To Acquire Riverfront Tract From TVA
Decatur's executive head is authorized to negotiate with TVA to buy about 51 acres of riverfront land in the Dry Creek Joe Wheeler highway area. DETROIT December 19 Patterson Haywood Patterson once condemned in the Scottsboro case is jailed as a murder suspect in a Detroit barroom killing of Willie Mitchell 27. He surrendered after police searched for him and is in custody for investigation of murder. Patterson escaped Kilby prison Alabama July 1948 and was recaptured in Detroit last June before extradition was ordered. He worked for a Detroit construction company.
