Second Lang murder trial unfolds with witness recitals
The second trial of James Lester Lang for the murder of Mrs Christine Haynie began just before 10 am with prosecutors presenting testimony from Eli and Idmondson, residents of the mountain community, about the finding of Haynie's body in a pine thicket two miles south of Lacon. Edmonson described seeing Lang earlier and Haynie passing toward Bibb store, with Haynie wearing a scarf and a pin striped kerchief. Edmonson said Lang spoke to him then left. The court postponed further Lang proceedings as the defense witnesses failed to appear, while Willie Ed Spraggins trial continued to next term.
