Volunteers Spring to the Nations Defense Sentenced
Wade H. Holley former Augusta policeman was re sentenced to the Volunteers spring to the nations defense in Athens Alabama. Joe Sarver Jr of Auburn and Charles Alfred Sarver of Athens volunteered for the army and navy. Others volunteering include Ewell Ray Gordon and Joe Bob Elliott. Holley’s conviction for slaying Bee Beckum was confirmed by the U S Supreme Court.
