Team Managers In The Game Too
Decatur and Austin meet as unbeaten city basketball foes at Calhoun Junior College with focus on team managers. The piece notes managers’ contributions to both teams and includes a photo caption about a student styling Mrs. Dianah Walden’s Christmas hair. A separate report records a Sunday one-vehicle crash two miles west of said Troopers reporting Ricky C. Dawson injured and treated at Decatur General Hospital.

Decatur Mayor Russell Bolding announced receipt of the city's first revenue sharing check totaling 406,918 dollars for the first half of 1972. A second 406,918 dollar payment is expected in January to cover the remainder of 1972, with total 1972 funds at 813,836 dollars. Officials say the cutback, part of a Treasury reevaluation, will not greatly hinder planned expenditures and future quarterly checks will continue through 1976.
