Prince Resigning From ASC Post
D. C. Prince, eight years with the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation office in Morgan County, has submitted his resignation. He told Morgan County ASC chairman Joe T. Robinson that he will step down as county ASC office manager December 31 due to a heart condition. A 17 year old Negro student from Houston Texas Dora Lee Martin a freshman in liberal arts was chosen by men students at the University of Iowa as Miss SUI of 1955. She was selected from 29 candidates all other contestants were white. It marks the first time a Negro girl has been crowned campus queen at the winter Fire and Ice formal.
