Theft Of Salt Shaker Charged
Cullman County authorities charged Lorenza Donnell Malcom 20 with first degree burglary in the theft of a salt shaker from his uncle's house. Malcom was arrested on a complaint filed by Zetha Malcom of Arkadelphia, according to Sheriff Bill Tucker.

Lawrence Position Undecided in County Pensions Boss Fight
Alabama Supreme Court to decide who can name the Lawrence County Department of Pensions and Security director after the county welfare board and the state welfare commissioner named different candidates for the vacancy left by Alice Jo Young’s resignation last May. Circuit Judge Billy Burney ruled the county board holds appointment authority and King exceeded his authority by refusing to recognize the county’s choice. King appealed October 12.
