Jury Out Two Hours to Find Guilty Verdict
Son King was found guilty today of participating in the $14 000 Falkville bank robbery and sentenced to fifteen years in the penitentiary. The jury delivered the verdict after about two hours of deliberation amid the trial of Lester Altman Tune, 42, the third man charged. Tune testified as a defense witness, with his attorney noting a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity and possible intoxication. The defense plans an appeal and a motion for a new trial. The judge read the sentence as King’s wife showed emotion. King remains jailed pending final verdicts.
