A 45 year old Town Creek resident identified as a Black man died when a two story frame house burned late Saturday night or early Sunday about a mile south of Hatton on Alabama 101. The blaze destroyed the home and the victim likely perished inside. Further investigation was pending.

Search for Cooper ended at 3 a m with no water to fight blaze. Body found under a fallen chimney. Cause undetermined. Elliotts account: Cooper accompanied Mr and Mrs Jake Smith to Russellville. NORTH SALEM, N.Y. Eastern Airlines pilot Charles J. White died helping to evacuate passengers after crashing his propeller plane following a collision with a Trans World Airlines jet. Three others were killed and 50 injured as 112 people rode the two airliners. TWA Captain Thomas H. Carroll guided his jet, with a 30 foot wing section missing, to a Kennedy landing. Federal investigators probe the crash cause.
The first space striptease by a U S astronaut was performed successfully today as James A Lovell rode comfortably through space in long underwear. Frank Borman reported from the Carnarvon tracking station during Gemini 7 s 29th orbit.
