The Boys Club of Decatur opens at 3 p m today at the Youth Center for boys 9 to 15 in Decatur and Morgan County. The Youth Center, a project of the Decatur Junior Service League, is now operated by the club allied with Boys Club of America. Benson unveils six point plan for farmers

Lawrence Cyclist Dies as S D Day Starts in Area
Lawrence County records a traffic fatality and two serious injuries on the eve of S D Day. Sammy Johnson, 76, a bicyclist, died at Colbert County Hospital after being struck on Alabama 20. Two motorists, Gil bert Key and Curtis Cottingham, were hurt in a separate crash on Alabama 24 near Trinity. Key transferred to Birmingham with a badly fractured arm. Cottingham reported doing fairly well. The incidents add to the region wide push for S D Day safety efforts.
