Man Thrown Under Train At Austinville Crossing

G W Waters of Crichton Alabama died after being thrown beneath a southbound freight near the Austinville crossing while trying to board. He had sought work, was conscious until near the end, and his death followed severe leg injuries and loss of blood. He leaves a wife two children and multiple relatives.

Second Bridal Trip Underway

Fontaine Little former Alabama newspaper man and his wife with their two year old child were on a second honeymoon in Kentucky after a tumultuous separation. A court warrant for assault to murder had halted reunification in Decatur but was dismissed after bonds were posted and a reconciliation was reached in Columbia.
