Air Force pilots said seven dogfights with MIG17s occurred over Hanoi with no aircraft losses on either side. Tennessee Ambushers Kill Sheriff's Wife on Rural Road

McNairy County Sheriff Buford Pusser and his wife were ambushed on a lonely road while responding to a trouble call. Mrs Pusser died, the sheriff wounded in the chin, taken to a Memphis hospital in fair condition as investigators blamed bootlegging and criminal elements along the state line.
