Heights Man Shot In Nose After Dispute
I J Birdwell, 34, of Moulton Heights, was treated for a nose wound and released from Decatur General Hospital after being shot by C C Montgomery at Montgomerys store on Old Moulton Road. Deputy Pat Patterson said an argument over an oil change led to a confrontation and Birdwell reached for his pocket before Montgomery fired. The shooting occurred as Birdwell was reportedly shot once in the nose.

Florida prisoner escapes by shade tree ruse
Dothan reported a Florida inmate, John Lloyd Bedsole, 34, escaped custody during a work gang near the Alabama line by refusing to move during a shade tree rest.
