Army Captain Allen Takes Command Near Vung Tau Vietnam

Army Captain Richard F. Allen 26 assumed command of the 50th General Support Group Headquarters Company near Vung Tau Vietnam on July 14 He entered active duty in May 1963 arrived in Vietnam last September and previously served with the 1 Ordnance Company near Vung Tau He is a 1959 Decatur High School graduate with a BA in mathematics and chemistry from Florence State College 1963 His wife Peggy resides at 1514 Carridale St SW His commission came via ROTC at Florence State College Mae Mallory African American Sisters United arrives in Dar es Salaam Tanzania to study African nationalism culture and women organizations during a monthlong visit.
