In Limestone County on Sunday two deaths occurred near Athens. Charlie Hacker, 15, son of C. D. Hacker of Athens, was killed while attempting to board a freight at Harris Station and dragged along the tracks. Vance Beddingfield, 60, a respected preacher, was struck by a freight train after waiting for a Pan American passenger train to pass. A rumor of a second victim in the yards was denied by railroad officials.

In Dothan Alabama Mrs A Rice killed herself at home with a shotgun while her two daughters aged 3 and 10 watched. The coroner said she had just returned from the state hospital for the insane at Tuscaloosa where she had been treated. She fired twice with the second shot entering her neck and severing the jugular. Mr Rice and two sons were in a field nearby.

Little Progress In Investigation Of Chicago Man Held
Officers have made little headway in the case of a young man named George Mc Cartey held here on suspicion. He says he is from Chicago and on his way to Nashville to enlist. He claims he sandpapered his finger prints to avoid possible dishonorable discharge from the Eighth Second Field Artillery at El Paso Texas. Authorities expect fingerprint results within a day or two.

Pilot is Cleared in Air Crash At Fayetteville
A plane returning from a passenger run crashed into a crowd on an embankment in Fayetteville Tennessee killing eight and injuring about twenty. The pilot Lawrence Smith 28 was cleared of blame by Sheriff M W Rhea and Cap Field but was moved to another county amid fears of violence.
