River death ruled accidental in Carter case
The body of Carter was found Saturday near the south bank of the Tennessee river by Albert Bevins of Somerville. Coroner Lewis Brown of Morgan County ruled the death accidental after an investigation. Carter was last seen April 7 in a flat bottom boat near Plymouth Rock Landing and items found in the river supported a drowning conclusion. He left his boat to secure gear for dragging operations. Carters parents, two brothers and two sisters survive.
