Mrs. Josie Hethcock aged 74 died at her home in Purdys district after a lingering illness. She was wife of J Wesley Hethcock and member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. Funeral held at Sweetwater with Rev Joel Honea. burial in the churchyard. Survivors include her husband and children Bertha Halcomb J H McGill Oscar Elkins Watson Hothearl Dawson County La Simuratma Atlanta Clay Fs Smyrna and two sisters Mary Striplin and Mary Howard. Arthur Brisbane, renowned high paid American writer, died of a heart attack at his New York home on Christmas Day. He had influenced readers for nearly fifty years and left a Christmas message recalling the 1936 birthday of a child and the crucifixion story.
