Tax Collector Warns of March 1 1987 Tax Liens
Georgia tax collector G. O. Hughes announces final settlement days December 18 19 and 21 in Dawsonville before December 20 leaving unpaid 1986 taxes to incur fi fa penalties after December 20 and book closure on December 30 with successor taking over January 1.

Dawson County Petition Sent to State for Funds
In July 1988 the Dawson County Board of Education sent petitions to the State Department and State Board seeking funds. Dr. M. D. Collins agreed to bring the matter to the State Board. A board member requested an apology over supposed remarks about teacher morals, but the board and state superintendent denied any reflection on teachers.
