Registrations at rural offices totalled 512 by Wednesday noon, with many still needing to complete. Dauphin Sub Area May Host Evacuation Exercise
Andrew Currie, Manitoba civil defence co ordinator, announced a planned full scale evacuation drill in Dauphin sub area No 14 late this fall or early 1959. A manning test is planned first, then a metropolitan Winnipeg municipality will be chosen for the real operation with emphasis on traffic, registration, shelter and food at the reception end. The program could become a model for future Manitoba civil defence planning.
