The Dauphin Provincial Conservative association plans a convention in Dauphin town hall next Tuesday afternoon to nominate a provincial election candidate and elect new officers. A mass meeting follows at eight with speakers including the named candidate and party leader Errick F. Willis. The new platform will be announced. Everyone welcome.

Dauphin Pioneers Stage Reunion At Dauphin Beach
A large crowd of Dauphin pioneers and families gathered at Dauphin Beach for their annual picnic and reunion. Events included rolling-pin throw and tug of war with prize results led by Mrs. Bliss and Bob Miller. Over 350 people shared a picnic lunch at A. E. Iredale’s cottage. Dr Beauchamp was the oldest pioneer present, reaching the 85th milestone.

Shell River man charged over shed fire
Wm Bailey of Shell River faced Magistrate Little in Dauphin Police Court on a one year suspended sentence for unlawfully and negligently starting a fire in an implement shed. Bailey lit a cigarette lighter while gas drained from a tank, causing an explosion that destroyed the shed worth about 1500. Neighbors pledged to help rebuild and Bailey must supply a binder by harvest time.

Public Schools Stage Concert and Spanish Fairy Tale
A capacity crowd attended the town hall concert by public school seniors on Monday evening. The program opened with rollicking choruses and featured the operetta A Spanish Fairy Tale set in a Spanish town on May Day eve. The tale follows Sanchica, daughter of the village barber, and a magic key amid gypsies and police in a dreamlike fantasy.

Car collision leaves two damaged vehicles on city streets
One car owned by E Prentice and driven by Leonard Clyde was southbound on 1st Street West when it was struck at the rear by a second car owned by Mrs Wilf Robson and driven by her son Bill on 9th Ave. Robson’s vehicle overturned, injuring passenger W Mansfield with a cut above the eye. no drivers were hurt. Robson car suffered bumper fender and radiator damage.
