Dauphin Manitoba council approved paying Winnipeg contractor William Newman 3734.18 in full settlement of extra work claims on Edwards Creek dam. Ward Warns Rotary on Farm Machinery Costs in Canada
W J Ward M P told the Dauphin Rotary club that cheaper farm machinery seems unlikely in Canada under current conditions. He suggested government price regulation as a last resort and cited a alleged international combine among major manufacturers. He noted eight foot binders cost 293 dollars now versus 160 dollars in 1913 and highlighted rising costs despite lower postwar costs.
