Ukrainian Picnic at Broken Pipe Draws Big Crowd
Ukrainian citizens from Dauphin and district gathered at Broken Pipe Lake for the ninth annual picnic under the Ukrainian People's Home of Dauphin. A. T. Warnock chaired. speakers included Robi Hawkins MLA W J Ward MP and Wm Lisowsky MLA. The day featured games and a tug of war with the east and west districts, won by the west.

Fined For Speeding In Riding Mountain Park
Two young men from Dauphin and Neepawa were charged with speeding in Riding Mountain National Park and fined 10 dollars each or a month in jail. The charges were laid by Constable Boney of the RCMP and heard before Magistrate J Fleming at Minnedosa Wasaga on June 24. The fines were paid.

City Meeting Debates Street Lighting and Water Plans
Officials discussed improving street lighting arrangements and emergency complaint handling for Saturday nights. The session ended after noting that large water users were considering building their own wells for supply.
Preliminary hearing of Dr Fox to be resumed
The preliminary hearing for Dr S W Fox of Gilbert Plains resumes Tuesday to decide if he will be committed for trial on a charge of attempting an illegal operation. Magistrate Thos Little in Winnipeg will rule if Mrs Fox can be compelled to testify regarding the December incident. The case has been heard in Dauphin and Winnipeg with Crown and defense lawyers named.
