A Manitoba wide collaboration hosts a Monster Picnic on June 18 at the Exhibition Grounds with judging demonstrations, a welcome by Mayor Robson, speeches by D. G. McKenzie and leaders from agriculture pools, a basket picnic, band music, baseball, football and a Jitney Dance. Local and provincial groups including the United Farmers of Manitoba and Wheat Pool back the event. The event also features Wings on stage at the Dauphin Theatre and a salute to women’s councils with a June 10 talk by Mrs. Wilson on local to international council work.
