Fire at Telephone Office
A Friday noon fire at the local telephone office caused by fused wires was controlled before the fire brigade arrived. About a hundred connections were temporarily out of service, but all were back in operation within a day or two.
Open Round Set for Free Press Golf Tournament
The opening round of the Free Press Golf Tournament will be played this Thursday afternoon and evening by Dauphin Country Club members. A listed draw assigns players to face each other in the play downs and participants must submit ecards to Dr. Walker or John Laurence by day’s end. Robber Slugs Arthur Buie In Winnipeg Hotel
A masked robber slugged night clerk Arthur Buie at the Brunswick hotel in Winnipeg near Central police station about 2:30 am Tuesday.
