Nearly one hundred Grade XI and XII graduates were honored at the Dauphin evening program. Toasts honored both classes with remarks by Principal G. M. Churchill and others, plus musical selections and dancing to Johnny Johnston's orchestra.

One hundred forty two calves sold at the sixth annual Fed calf show and sale on June 6. Joe Storey of Grandview won champion, calf sold to T Eaton Co at twelve cents. Average price 40 cents per pound. Judges were Geo Bain and H McLean. Norman Bates won boys and girls section. Vernon Watson led shorthorn class. Buyers included T Eaton Co Swift Canadian Canada Packers and others.

Dauphin sweeps afternoon and evening games against Grandview in a fast paced opener. In the afternoon Squee Heard and J Wilson delivered triples as Dauphin edged Grandview 15 to 9. Evening sees Dauphin rally to win 3 0 on strong pitching by Heard and late scoring bursts.

Magistrate fines for Excise Act breaches in Dauphin court
Mike Roback and Henry Pokilo of Gilbert Plains were fined one hundred dollars each after pleading guilty to Excise Act breaches in Dauphin police court. Al Komarmicky of Dauphin municipality was fined fifteen dollars for theft of ties from the C N R and ordered to restitution. John Roback had a muskrat skin charge dropped. William Myers was remanded for a week on liquor charges.

Town Council Agrees to Maintain Highway to Riding Mountain Park
The Dauphin Town Council voted to accept a provincial plan for repair and maintenance of the road south to Riding Mountain National Park. The province will match up to 200 dollars for gravel, with the town using its grader in summer. The council also transferred control of new Third Ave playgrounds to the Parks Board for ten years and discussed renewing public liability insurance with new clauses.

Little Theatre Places Third in Province Drama Contest
The Dauphin Little Theatre earned third place in the provincial drama contest with their production of Shanghai. The Tribune praised the Dauphin play Pyramus and Thisbe and commended Albert J. Middleditch as Bottom, Robert Middleditch as Starveling, and Rosco Jackson as Snug. J. M. Howlett directed the show.

Power By-Law Approved To Fund New Generating Unit
The town ratepayers approved an electric light bylaw by 200 to 105 on Monday the 8th. It authorizes 76000 for a new generating unit about 650 K W for the power plant to ease overloads from last winter. Major N M Hall, former installation engineer, will supervise construction. Operations start once bonds for the 75000 debenture issue are arranged.
